Mad at me

Guess what he decided to do since he was mad at me?

Tore the bottom hem clean off my curtains.

Needless to say he was promptly placed in “time out”.

Reapply and birthday passed

He turned 3 on April 1st. Yes I am a bad mommy and I am only now posting about it. It’s also about time to reapply the flea & tick salve. I think we will do it within the next few days, since the smell irks my husband. It smells like herbs and I adore the way it smells, myself. I just don’t like that Coby thinks everything should smell like he does LOL He doesn’t need his rabies shot for another year, though. I was going to take him to the local free clinic for that, but realized I have to wait till next year. I wonder if they would be able to bring it to him in the car since he is still pretty miffed when it comes to other animals.

Happy Anniversary Coby!

Funny how anniversaries make you look back to the time when it all began. I just happened to be celebrating Coby’s first year with us this weekend …it was official on Saturday. I was taking a glance back through his papers from when we got him. I only just realized that the second name he was given in his trip to my home was Cobalt. How funny!

He has come a long way in a year. His aggression towards animals has lessened a bit. He is more obedient to us than he used to be… and his anxiety about us leaving him has cut by 25%.

Well here is to a year with Coby! Have a doggy beer on us ;)

Reapplied Nature’s Guard

If you recall, back in October I had to get some flea control for Coby. We just reapplied today as it has been 3 months and I would hate for him to go without. He has been itching a lot but I haven’t seen any fleas. I figure better safe than sorry. I love how he gets a punk rock hairdo from the oils down the middle of his back haha. I won’t have to reapply till April now.

Tomorrow there is a free rabies clinic in the area, but I am afraid to take him due to his animal aggression issues. I think there is yet another on the 29th closer to my house. Maybe I will wait till then and see if I can get a sort of drive thru service for him.

Dang shame what he did to that lobster

casualty of boredom

It’s funny what my dog will decide to do when he is bored. We decided it was too cold to leave him outside the other night when we went out, so we left him in his new cage in the house. He figured out a way to get himself over the Christmas tree, rip off a few little branches, tear apart the top of his yello toys bag, and rip off the claw of his favorite lobster. Now I can’t find the lobster, but he is still playing with the claw! At least he didn’t do #1 on my tree or #2 and eat it *yech*.

Christmas for the Pooch

The Man bought Coby a set of cute squeaky ball toys for Christmas. Each one looks like a ball from a different sport. I think they are going to be a big hit with Coby at Christmas. I don’t think we will wrap them, but I bet you that when he sees the box he will know it’s his. He usually does!

Bad Dog!

He has been trying to become more human I think. Coby has decided all of a sudden it’s  okay for him to put his paws on my counter and his face in my food. Ummm NO. He has also decided that mommy’s Christmas tree is now the inside bathroom. Ummm NO. He has been on lock down a lot in the last few days for doing things HE KNOWS he isn’t allowed to do. I hear a lot of people and animals are getting unruly as Christmas approaches. I wonder if it’s something in the air.

Looking at Crate Beds

I am looking to get Coby another bed. Well, this is for the large cage we just got him. It’s so slippery in there, and he doesn’t look all that comfortable being in there. Sometimes I use his regular bed from our room for him to have in the crate. I would rather have a dedicated pad for this one. The self-warming thermal dog cushion looks interesting. I wonder if he would like it. The heat might be too warm for him. I don’t really know. Anyone ever used them for a German Shepherd? Feedback is appreciated. I want to get it before we get too far into winter.

Pet me or DIE!

You must obey vampire dog. Seriously, though. He figured out a way for his entire body to fit in that rocking chair with my husband. It has to be the Corgi in him. He swears he is small enough to fit on furniture. This is the third time he has wiggled his way onto someone’s lap. Of course, with the Man here to pet him till his hair gets lose, he couldn’t be happier LOL
